We continue to improve the TRACELINE PX3 portable X-ray system to better support customers across different applications. Practical needs—from equipment operation to software use—help guide our development priorities.
A Closer Look at EOD Workflows
In Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) applications, the imaging process extends beyond capturing an X-ray image. How operators acquire, review and process images within their existing software environment is also an important consideration.
This is one area we want to understand better as PX3 develops, including the potential for future compatibility with XTK.
What Is XTK?
XTK (X-Ray ToolKit), developed by Sandia National Laboratories, is an X-ray image acquisition and processing software package designed for EOD and public safety bomb technicians. It provides tools for image enhancement, measurement and annotation.
For teams familiar with XTK, we want to explore how PX3 could better support their established ways of working. Further evaluation is needed to understand the requirements for image acquisition, equipment control and software interaction, and to determine what is technically feasible.
Continuing to Improve PX3
Software compatibility is one consideration within the broader development of PX3. We will continue to listen to customers across different applications, using their practical requirements to guide improvements in the system’s capabilities and everyday usability.
