Why can one cable support multiple models?

HEDR uses a universal adaptive interface with multi-protocol recognition. It can automatically identify vehicle communication protocols and connect directly to various ACM modules—without repeated cable changes, uncertain pin mapping, or unnecessary complexity.

Does HEDR offer free software updates?

We regularly release software updates to expand supported vehicle coverage and improve overall system functionality. Currently, all HEDR software updates are provided free of charge to users.

Which Tesla models does HEDR support?

The latest standard HEDR configuration includes three Tesla-specific EDR retrieval cables, enabling direct data extraction from major Tesla models, including Model 3, Model S, Model X, and Model Y, without requiring additional adapters.

How is the authenticity of HEDR-read data ensured?

HEDR is designed only to read and copy the data stored in the vehicle’s EDR module. It does not alter, overwrite, or delete the original crash data. When operated properly, HEDR retrieves the same raw EDR data consistently, functioning more like mirroring a digital file than modifying it.

How does HEDR ensure the integrity and accuracy of retrieved EDR data?

HEDR reads the EDR data three times and cross-verifies the results to confirm consistency across all readings. The report also includes raw hexadecimal data, allowing the results to be independently re-decoded and verified.

How does HEDR ensure data security?

All data is stored and encrypted locally to help prevent tampering or leakage and to support legal and insurance evidence requirements.
