Golden Engineering Portable X-Ray Generators

Battery-Powered Pulsed X-Ray Generators for Field Inspection

Golden Engineering portable X-ray generators are designed for professional security, EOD, forensic, fire investigation and light industrial inspection applications.

Based on pulsed X-ray technology, these generators produce a high-intensity X-ray burst in a very short duration. Their compact single-package design integrates the battery pack, high-voltage head, tube and electronic controls into a portable field generator.

As a Golden Engineering distributor, HDX International can support generator model selection and provide separate HDX system integration options when a complete portable X-ray imaging solution is required.

Pulsed X-Ray Technology

Short-duration high-intensity X-ray pulses for portable radiographic inspection.

Battery Powered

Selected models use commercially available DeWalt battery packs.

Generator Source

Golden Engineering supplies the pulsed X-ray generator; imaging components are configured separately.

Technology

Why Pulsed X-Ray Generators Are Practical for Field Operation

Golden Engineering generators are designed around pulsed X-ray output, compact packaging and simple field deployment, making them suitable for mobile inspection tasks where portability and rapid setup are important.

10–50ns

Short Pulse Duration

Pulsed X-ray bursts are generated in extremely short durations, depending on the model.

150–370kVp

Model Range

Available models cover compact 150 kVp units through higher-output 270 kVp and 370 kVp generators.

Single Unit

Integrated Package

Battery, tube, high-voltage head and electronic controls are integrated into a portable generator body.

No Source

No Radioactive Material

The generator emits ionizing radiation only when pulsing and does not contain radioactive source material.

Applications

Professional Applications Across Security, Forensics and NDT

Golden Engineering generators are used with suitable imaging systems to inspect inanimate objects non-destructively in field and industrial environments.

Security inspection application

Security & EOD Inspection

Suitable for inspecting suspicious objects, unattended packages and other security-related targets where fast, portable X-ray imaging is required.

Forensic and fire investigation application

Forensic & Fire Investigation

Supports non-invasive examination of evidence, fire debris and internal structures before physical handling or further laboratory analysis.

Industrial NDT application

Light Industrial NDT

Used for non-destructive inspection of selected components, assemblies and materials where portable digital radiography is preferred.

Golden Engineering XR200 portable X-ray generator

XR200

150 kVp Compact Model

The XR200 is a 150 kVp battery-powered pulsed X-ray generator for security and light industrial applications. According to Golden Engineering documentation, it can radiograph up to approximately 1/2 inch of steel under specified conditions.

Suitable for compact field inspection tasks where portability and quick deployment are key priorities.

Golden Engineering XRS3 portable X-ray generator

XRS3

270 kVp Versatile Model

The XRS3 is a 270 kVp battery-powered pulsed X-ray generator for applications requiring greater penetration than lower-kVp models. Golden Engineering describes the XRS3 as weighing less than 13 pounds and capable of radiographing up to 1 inch of steel under specified conditions.

A practical choice for users who need higher output while maintaining strong portability.

Golden Engineering XRS4 portable X-ray generator

XRS4

370 kVp High-Output Model

The XRS4 is a 370 kVp battery-powered pulsed X-ray generator designed for higher penetration requirements. Golden Engineering describes it as weighing 19 pounds and capable of penetrating more than 1.5 inches of steel under specified conditions.

Recommended for more demanding security and industrial inspection scenarios where higher penetration is required.

Portable X-Ray Imaging Samples

When paired with a suitable digital detector and imaging software, Golden Engineering generators can support portable radiographic inspection. Detector, software and workstation are not part of the Golden generator itself and can be configured separately when a complete HDX imaging solution is required. Actual image quality and penetration depend on the generator model, detector, exposure settings, object material and inspection conditions.
